The Barossan range from Peter Lehmann expresses the best of the varietals from the region. This full bodied shiraz has aromas of mocha and liquorice with its fruit profile including plums and Chambord raspberry. This bold wine has a soft, supple finish. 

A wine such as this gives lots of options in food matching but a red wine braised beef would come out top! This Barossan will match the richness of the beef whilst its supple finish will combine beautifully with cuts such as a blade or chuck which, cooked slowly will melt in your mouth. 

Without too many Aussie stereotypes being thrown about, slow barbecue meat is a great match too. Perhaps cheat and season your braised beef with smoky BBQ rub!
