Wine Wednesday - There is only One!

For #winewednesday we have selected one of our favourite wines 2013 Heartland One - Carbernet Sauvignon Shiraz. 

The excellence of Langhorne Creek's finest vineyards and growers have made Heartland One possible. Rigorous selection and tender care in the winery have allowed them to create a unique and singular wine. There are many fine wines from this tiny region, but if you want the best this cool climate can offer, there is only One. 

The sheer intensity of this wine in its youth tends to obscure multilayered collection of herbs and spices that track the unstoppable expansion of fruit on the palate. This densely purple wine of powerful dark fruit is complemented by velvety texture and a complex and lingering finish.

Spring frosts and the nature of the old vines combined offer us the smallest of harvest for Heartland One in 2013. Although quantities are very low, the gentle ripening season has yielded a wine of enormous potential.
