Craft Series Pride and Glory Sauvignon Blanc 2011

The Sauvignon Blanc fruit from vintage 2011 generated excitement and anticipation unseen for many years. Early season viticultural decisions proved to be the critical factor in setting the vines balance and direction for what would be a classical Marlborough season. Diurnal temperature variation came to the fore, allowing the fruit to reach optimum ripeness whilst retaining fresh and vibrant aromas with what can only be described as electric flavours. Bright notes of Passionfruit, Guava and citrus supported by a lingering floral scent which creates an element of expectation and allure of sophistication and charm

Robert Parker 93 Points – The highest ever score given to a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc True to its origins, flavours of citrus and tropical fruits are underpinned by soft acidity and creamy mouthfeel.

The texture, palate weight and length of flavour this wine delivers are truly exciting. This wine is will enhance dishes devoted to seafood, fresh herbs and butter!

Winemaking
Initially fermented in stainless steel utilising specific yeast isolates to capture the true essence of our soils, the wine was then aged on fine yeast lees without the presence of SO2 for 7 months to build palate weight and texture. The resulting wine was subsequently transferred into seasoned Puncheons containing Chardonnay lees for a further 5 months maturation.
