BenMarco wines are gently crafted to showcase the ripe fruit expression of their sustainably-farmed Mendoza vineyards.
They harvest by hand into small boxes to minimise damage to the fruit before fermentation and vinify each variety separately before ageing in new French (50%) and second year American (50%) oak for 11 months. Minimal handling creates wines that speak of their place-dry high desert, plenty of sunshine and poor soils that are perfect for grape growing.
These MALBEC (90%) and BONARDA (10%) grapes are grown at over 3000 feet in elevation where hot days and cool nights allow the grapes to mature slowly and develop ripe, rich and concentrated flavours.
A super premium un-filtered, un-fined, hand-harvested Malbec given the expensive new French oak treatment. Beautiful deep purple colour with perfumed aromas of ripe red fruits and roasted coffee beans. It is lush, full-bodied and penetrating on the palate with loads of chewy, currant jam flavours, bright acidity, and a touch of grip on the almost savoury finish. This wine really unfolds with some air so try not to slurp it down in a rush, and it shows why the Argentine people are in love with Malbec.
