Owned by the Crampes family, Château La Boissière was built in the eighteenth century on slopes overlooking the right bank of the Garonne at the heart of the Bordeaux wine region between Sauternes and the Entre-Deux-Mers area, not far from Langon. The Crampes family has inhabited the château for more than a century. Out of respect for the environment and to offer a greater guarantee of quality, the estate obtained Agriculture Raisonnée (for integrated farming techniques) and “Terra Vitis” certification in 2005.
Stainless steel vats and a temperature-control system were installed in the winery in the early 1980s. Besides this ultra-modern vatting room, the Château also has a barrel-ageing cellar with 250 barrels. The wines are fermented in the traditional way with 10-15 days’ post-fermentation maceration, after which they are aged in high-quality oak and bottled on the estate. The vineyard is run in line with the guiding principles of integrated management specifications and respect for the environment.

VINTAGE 2014 :
TASTING NOTES - The result of an excellent Bordeaux vintage, this wine is a beautiful, sombre hue of red. The expressive nose opens with notes of black-berried fruit, handing over to a palate which is meaty on the attack, with perfectly matured tannins wrapped in silky, lingering extract. A touch of elegant toastiness is perceptible at the finish, the result of ageing in oak. A harmonious wine which will make an ideal accompaniment for grilled meat or a cheese as part of an informal meal.
