Gato Negro Cabernet Sauvignon

Gato Negro has been one of Chile's best-known wine names since 1968, made by Viña San Pedro, one of the country's largest and longest-established wineries. The grapes for this Cabernet Sauvignon come from Chile's Central Valley, where warm days and cool nights give the fruit plenty of ripeness while keeping a fresh, balanced acidity.

In the glass, it's an intense red colour with violet hints, a good sign of a young, fruit-driven wine. On the nose you'll find fresh ripe blackberries and blackcurrants, generous and inviting. The palate is medium-bodied and smooth, with succulent red berry fruit and soft, easy-drinking tannins, finishing rounded rather than heavy.

This is a versatile, food-friendly red. Pour it alongside spicy red meat dishes or strong, flavoursome cheeses, or simply enjoy a glass on its own. At 13.5% Vol and 750ml, it's a reliable, well-priced bottle for everyday drinking.
