2016 Midletown Very Rare Irish Whiskey.

It's the 2016 edition of the annually-released Midleton Very Rare, Irish Whiskey an annually-awesome Irish blended whiskey from the eponymous distillery. This was drawn exclusively from American oak barrels selected by Master Distiller Brian Nation.

On the nose, this whiskey is robustly malty, though soft hints of jam doughnuts and marmalade come through too. To the palate it is waxy fruit, still quite malty. Christmas spices and comforting vanilla notes linger. Apricot, mango, and underlying hints of peppered oak on the finish.
