Ben Glaetzer Amon-Ra Unfiltered Shiraz, Barossa Valley, Australia.
Worlds Premier Wines, Medal Winner Wine
As the King of all Gods, Amon-Ra is considered the most powerful figure in Egyptian mythology.
The temple of Amon-Ra is recorded as the birthplace of commercial winemaking, having the first ever large scale vineyard grown specifically to make wine for the citizens of the temple.
For the 2001 and 2002 vintages there were distinct McLaren Vale AND Barossa Valley bottlings, but from 2003 onward there has only been a Barossa Valley bottling.
A truly wine experience.

2010 Amon - Ra, Awarded GOLD MEDAL.
Published in the Dallas morning newspaper on March 28th 2012, USA.
95+ Points Lisa Perrotti Brown for eRoberParker.com
Produced from 100% Shiraz the 2010 Amon - Ra displays a deep purple - black colour and aromas of cedar, baking spices, lavender, chocolate and vanilla over a core of creme de casis, black cherry pie and dried plums.
Very full bodied and densely packed with layered warm berry, earth and spice flavors, it has a solid backbone of medium to firm fine grained tannins and crisp acid, finishing long with some hints of dried provence herbs and black pepper coming through.
Consider drinking 2014 to 2024+.
The Wine Advocate: Amon Ra 2007 Rating: 96-99 points
Dr Jay Miller, The Wine Advocate USA. Issue 181 Feb 2009
The 2007 Amon-Ra Shiraz was sourced from vines ranging in age from 50 to 110 years with yeilds of only 0.5 tons per acre. It spent 15 months in 100% new oak, predominantly French. A glass-coating, opaque purple in colour, it reveals a brooding nose of wood smoke, mineral, scorched earth, asian spices, blueberry and chocolate. Super-rich, dense yet suprisingly light on its feet.
This extraordinary effort will evolve for a decade and offer a drinking window stretching from 2015 to 2035.
