Later owned by the Shilton's 1911–1926; Meakins 1926-1929; Roeslers 1929-1961; Andretzkes 1961-2011 and now the Lindner family, this wine is a reward of these guardian’s efforts over a hundred years.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA medium-bodied wine with juicy Satsuma Plum fruits and soft, velvety tannins adding a lovely structure and texture to the wine. Sweet and briary spice balances the juicy fruit with a little roasty, savoury note carrying through to the finish.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eVine age greater than 100 years of age.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e2014 VINTAGE REPORT\u003cbr\u003eA much needed soaking winter and early spring rains led to a great start \u003cbr\u003eto the 2014 vintage. This didn’t last as late spring and early summer rain \u003cbr\u003ewas nearly non-existent, adding to the flow on from the previous \u003cbr\u003eseason’s drought. Yields were still below average, exacerbated by strong \u003cbr\u003ewind events during flowering and very hot conditions in January with 14 \u003cbr\u003econsecutive days over 40C. Vintage was looking like a hot, hard and fast \u003cbr\u003eone until mid-February, when the heavens opened up and dumped 90ml \u003cbr\u003ein the Barossa Valley and 150ml in Eden Valley. Concerns for crop loss \u003cbr\u003ewere fortunately alleviated as there was minimal grape splitting in the \u003cbr\u003ewhites and all the reds just said thank you very much. After a three-week \u003cbr\u003edelay for grapes to return to previous ripeness levels, the rest of vintage \u003cbr\u003ewas mild - extending hang time for great flavour development and \u003cbr\u003eresulting in a calm and steady intake of great quality fruit. The nice \u003cbr\u003eweather broke midway through April and hindered our patience with late \u003cbr\u003eripening Eden Valley Cabernet, so our last crush for the year was the 28th\u003cbr\u003eof April.
