 Awarded Chilean wine producer of the year recently at the world’s most prestigious wine competition Santa Alicia hit the jackpot again with this staggeringly good Chardonnay – it’s like Chablis meets Australia – loads of sun-drenched fruit but backed up with a steely spine of amazing elegance.

What an honour! Two trophies and a diploma for Santa Alicia in the 2007 International Wine and Spirit Competition...

The first trophy was awarded for the Gran Reserva Merlot 2003 - named as the best Chilean wine of the competition.

The second trophy and diploma were awarded to the Santa Alica winery in recognition for being the best Chilean wine producers.

Santa Alicia vineyards are located in the pirque region in the heart ot the Maipo Valley, where the best "terroir" for Chilean wines are found. These vineyards are irrigated by a very small amount of pure, crystal water coming from the melting snow of the Andes Mountains, in order to achieve a high concentration of fruit in its premium quality wines.

Santa Alicia's winemaker is David Gonzalez who has been with the winery since 1997.

David's philosophy of winemaking is not only based on good vine stock, but also the knowledge given by enology and the hands of a born artisan.
