The Barossa can claim to have some of the oldest Shiraz, Grenache, and Mourvedre vines in the world. They still grow on their original roots, which came from European and South African vines before they were destroyed by phylloxera. These exceptional circumstances allow the Barossa to produce some of the rarest wines in the world.
The Shiraz vines at Langmeil Winery continue to be dry grown and with hand pruning and handpicking, the grapes provide a wine with rich and unique qualities.
Langmeil is a small, family-run business and it has taken a few years to acquire all the equipment required to create the company's special style of wines. The synergy of new and old-world equipment has helped to capture the characteristics in each variety and protect the subtleties of individual vineyards, assuring the high quality of Langmeil's wine from Chief Winemaker Paul Lindner is maintained.
Langmeil is sitting on a bit of Australian wine heritage - a 3 1/2-acre vineyard that was planted in 1843 called "The Freedom".
The Langmeil recipe of dry farming, basket pressing, and only judicious use of new oak, has created an elegant, feminine, extremely drinkable and balanced wine style.
No "oil slick wines" here.

Our Three Gardens premium red blend is made up of Shiraz, Mataro, and Granache. These varieties have been grown and nurtured in the Barossa since the 1840s. We then blend the best fruit representing the characteristics of each variety to make a wine that's truly Barossa. The Lindner family of Langmeil Winery has been immersed in the Barossa's culture of farming, food, wine, and community for six generations. Our commitment to quality in all aspects is unwavering and any wine that bears the Langmeil name represents our family's pursuit of excellence in wine and community.
James Halliday's Australian Wine Companion has awarded Langmeil Winery five red stars in 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009, placing it in the TOP 5% of Australian Wineries.
