Irish Whiskey Ambassador Joe Magowan called in to our Magherafelt store to tell us a bit more about whiskey and have a cheeky tasting. Magowan’s love affair with Irish whiskey began almost 10 years ago when, while at university, when he took up a part-time job at famous independent Belfast off-licence The Vineyard. From craft beer and brewing to fine wines, spirits and distilling, he became a self-taught connoisseur of all things craft; learning to brew his own beer; attending whiskey tasting sessions and soaking up all the knowledge he could.
A walking talking embodiment of the Powers brand motto With Knowledge Comes Powers, over the years he has tasted many blends, pot still and peated varieties.
