DESCRIPTION

Superb quality and craftsmanship are the hallmarks of Santa Rita, one of Chile's most admired and innovative wine estates.

The “120” series of wines was named after the historic event when 120 soldiers led by General Bernardo O'Higgins took refuge in Santa Rita's cellars in 1814 during Chile's Independence war.

These wines are fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures, and early bottled to preserve each variety's fruitiness and natural aromas. The 120 wines are young, fresh, elegant and fruity, perfectly well-balanced with soft tannins and good acidity.

Their exceptional value makes them an outstanding choice for rounding out our everyday meals.

The 120 series is composed by Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot and Shiraz as well as limited releases such as Viognier, Riesling, Merlot-Shiraz, Shiraz-Malbec and Franc-Cabernet Sauvignon.

Quantity: 75cl.
Variety: 100% Sauvignon Blanc
Region: Lontuã Valley
Winemaker: Andrås Ilabaca
Winemaker's comments:

Our 120 Sauvignon Blanc is crisp and refreshing. Its fruity aroma of citrus blossoms and peaches is well balanced by delicate herbaceous undertones. Fruity and floral characteristics enhanced by a pleasant acidity intensify the wine's freshness and smooth lingering on the palate.

Climate & Soil:

The climate is sub-humid Mediterranean with a rainy winter and an extended, cold spring. Summers are usually dry with maximum temperatures over 30 Degrees Celsius. During February the temperature starts to decrease and the mountain influence reaches its maximum thermal oscillation. The lands located at the foothills of the Andes have loamy or loamy clay textured soils with good drainage.

Vinification:

Grapes are destemmed and immediately pressed. A rigorous separation of drops from the press in order to ensure greater and balance for this wine's vinification. Must fermentation at low temperatures seeks to ensure a maximum varietal expression. This wine was fermented and aged in stainless steel.

Suggested foods:

Excellent as an aperitif or with seafood.
