  • Will Brad-gelina’s Homemade Wedding Wine be the Pitts?

Yes the rumours are still rife about the up and coming nuptials of these celebrity icons but the news just out is all about what tipple they will be serving to their guests?

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will serve their wedding guests a wine brewed on their own estate.

The Hollywood stars were thought to be tying the knot at their French home this month, however Angelina laughed off the speculation while in Greece.

Although the date for their nuptials is unknown, they are busily planning their special day.

Brad has reportedly already chosen what his loved ones will drink, opting for seven different tipples.

"Guests shouldn't be disappointed in his taste," a source told British newspaper The Sun.

"He's always had a keen interest in wine and after doing his wine steward's course earlier this year, he's pretty much a certified expert.

"[One option called] Pink Floyd is one of their own wines from their Miraval estate."

  • How much would you pay for a decent bottle?

    Try AUD$168,000

Wine snobs don't hesitate even when the price is high. How do you put a price, after all, on a superior vino?

    But still — $168,000?

Australian winemaker Penfolds released a wine last year that cost about $1,000 — an impressive sum. But that's nothing compared with its 2004 Kalimna Block 42 Cabernet Sauvignon, which is priced at, yes, AUD$168,000, equivalent £100,000.

Such a sum would buy 1000 or more bottles of Armand de Brignac Champagne, or 1000 entire cases of Kenny's Kracking X-Rated Sauvignons with change!

  • We'll Drink to That!

Woodford Bourne NI has secured an exclusive contract to distribute the South American wine brand, Cono Sur, across Northern Ireland - and we are one of the lucky people to stock it!

If you haven't heard of Cono Sur, they were founded in 1993 and have positioned themselves as the second largest Chilean wine exporter.

    So what's coming our way?

Well some of the wines are new to Northern Ireland, including a limited edition 20 barrels Pinot Noir, a Reserva range made from a selection of fruit that is harvested from older and lower yields to increase quality and finally a Brut from Bio-Bio, one of the most southern origins in the world.

  • Glass of wine a day keeps arthritis away

The next time someone offers you a glass of wine, be grateful - it could save you from the agony of arthritis.

Women who indulge in moderate drinking halve the risk of certain forms of the illness, researchers have found.

Swedish scientists found that women who drank at least three medium-sized glasses of wine a week - or the equivalent in beer or spirits - were up to 52 percent less likely to develop rheumatoid arthritis.

The illness is caused by the immune system - which normally fights infection - attacking the cells lining the joints.

Academics believe alcohol counters this process because it lowers the immune response. Researchers from the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm quizzed 34,100 women aged 39 to 84 about their drinking habits.
